style inspiration: alexa chung
To admire or respect certain women my age is one thing, but I usually don't call very many young women style inspirations. Alexa is definitely one of the exceptions to the rule.

Hunter Wellington Boots
_I've been meaning to write a post about my love for Hunter Boots. Of course, as I'm writing this, it happens to be over 100 degrees in Los Angeles. Horrible time to wear them, perfect time to buy them. They were first created for the Army during World War I. Today, they are worn by everyone from gardeners to the Royal Family. They come in many colors, my personal favorite being Dark Olive, here. I also love their Equestrian style boot, here.

The Marc Jacobs interactive store launched this week, with a very real boutique-like feel. I love it. Marc's brand is becoming an empire right now with the success of Bookmarc, his shows at fashion week, this Ecommerce site and his plans for his Cafe and Hotel. Exciting!

_Subject noteworthy: I love Tommy Hilfiger's Fall/Winter 2010 collection (here) and his Spring 2011 collection that was presented at his show in New York yesterday (here). So Sartorialist preppy chic.
_Also check out Tommy and Dee Hilfiger's apartment at the Plaza in New York (where the Assouline bookstore happens to be). Featured in Harper's Bazaar, here. Breathtaking...

The Kate Moss Film KM3D-1
_Kate Moss stars as Kali, an all-powerful Hindu goddess in a new 3D film "KM3D-1", directed by Ballie Walsh. The film is set to premiere this Thursday at Haunch of Venison London in partnership with AnOther Magazine. The release date directly follows Vogue Italia's September Issue 3D cover and spread of Miranda Kerr (see it again here). Technology advances fast.
_Subject noteworthy, Kate Moss: The model's last full "seasonal collection" with Topshop goes on sale October 28th. As of 2011, Kate and the Topshop design team will only focus on creating Limited Edition drop-in collections.

Streetstyle fashion websites are huge now and Hermès has joined the party. Their new website "J'aime Mon Carré" (French for "I Love My Scarf") features girls from New York, London, Paris and Tokyo wearing Hermès scarves. I hope this website inspires more girls in Los Angeles to wear scarves - so chic. The lack of love for Los Angeles on J'aime Mon Carré's website is proof that we don't wear them enough here. My French mom rarely leaves the house without one on...
Hermès is releasing a special "J'aime Mon Carré" silk scarf collection with Colette on September 27th.

Nicole Formichetti (previously Lady Gaga's stylist) has officially taken on the role of Creative Director at Thierry Mugler. This new role makes perfect sense considering Lady Gaga wears Thierry Mugler creations frequently. Great opportunity for Nicole.

My other all time favorite home fragrance is Diptyque's Feu De Bois (Room Spray and Candle). Find them here. The candle is handmade in France. It's next to my bed, I'm addicted.
